YU CHEN
In Art on 10 enero 2012 at 9:39Chinese artist Yu Chen graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing in 1988 where she now works as a teacher. Throughout her artistic career she has been highly productive but what I like the most are her two series called ‘Red Babies’ where chubby babies are dressed in green army garb just like Chairman Mao Zedong back in the day. Yummy!
OLEK
In Art on 9 enero 2012 at 6:19Olek, who is one of our favourite yarn bombers, was born Agata Oleksiak en Poland but later on moved to New York where she took up crochet. A good decision it seems since her yarn sculptures have been presented in galleries in Brooklyn, Venice, Brazil, Istanbul, her homeland Poland and of course out on the streets.
Keep that crochet hook moving!
THE CHUNG!!
In Art on 12 diciembre 2011 at 6:59David Chung aka ‘The Chung!!‘ sure knows how to make people laugh. His artwork, which filled with humor and awkwardness, works as a sort of catharsis for the moments of humiliation and he reminds us to step back, stop taking ourselves so seriously, and use the moment to laugh at our failures. The Chung!! has shown in galleries all over Los Angeles, New York, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and parts of Europe. He currently works full time during the day as a Background Designer for Nickelodeon and a fine artist by night.
ZHONG BIAO
In Contemporary, Paintings on 1 diciembre 2011 at 7:14Zhong Biao was born in 1968 in the middle of the Chinese Sichuan Province. After graduating in from China’s Academy of Fine Arts, where he studied oil painting, his work has been exhibited all over the world. Actually it might not be over the top to call him China’s most famous contemporary paintor and over the years he has been taking on the visual experiences of an era as the image source of his works, including sculpture and china representing China’s past glories, the labor models of the Cultural Revolution, and such symbols of modern life as McDonalds and Boeing aircrafts.

In Concept Art, Projects on 28 octubre 2011 at 7:31“My work is created in a reaction to what we readily encounter in our lives, sidewalks and doorways, building and bricks. I’m just connecting the dots differently to make my own picture. Others need to see that they can create too, connecting their own dots, in their own places.” – Aakash Nihalani
DIMITRI TSYKALOV
In Concept Art, Photography on 11 octubre 2011 at 7:30Russian artist Dimitri Tsykalov likes to experiment with different mediums and has so far made art out of both wood and fruit. However, the photographic serie where he combined nudity and weapons with raw meat might be the one that has received the most attention so far and it doesn’t take an Einstein to figure out why.
