Clemens Behr was born in 1985 in Koblenz, Germany, but is currently based in Berlin where he studying Fine Arts at UdK Berlin. However, much of Behr’s time is dedicated to travelling and creating his huge 3D installations in both public and interior environments. For his sculptures he uses things he has found and recycled as well as basic building materials, whatever that mixes with the urban cityscape. With a background in graffiti Behr’s style is street smart, but his influences also include origami, spontaneous chance and a deep interest in the environment where his installations are displayed. We love it!

BEVERLY FISHMAN

For more than two decades, multi-artist Beverly Fishman has explored our relationship to science and medicine in a variety of different media. Mixing optical patterns with vibrant colours and representational elements taken from pharmaceuticals and scientific imaging system her paintings, sculptures, and work on paper raise the question about the relationship between technology, our bodies and our minds. Her exhibition ‘Pill Spill’ consisted of filling the Toledo Muesum of Art with more than 120 unique glass capsulas in different sizes. An idea with is both beautiful, addictive and totally free od unpleasant side effects.

Nicole Dextras is an environmental artist working in a multitude of media including sculpture, interactive public installation and photography. She graduated from the Emily Carr University of Art in Vancouver, Canada, where she also has been working as a sessional teacher for the past 8 years. A part from teaching she has created art installations in as diverse places as Mongolia, Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Dawson City YT and Bellevue WA. She has been awarded both Canada Council and BC Arts Council grants and her work has been published in numerous publications such as ELLE Canada and My Green City, published by Gestalten, Berlin. Yes, sir!

Hemos vuelto a nuestros principios, retomamos un poco el arte en galerías y espacios públicos y privados, dentro de este reencuentro tenemos que aconsejaros que os paséis por la Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin (para los que estáis en París o Miami). Vaya visión la de estos pavos! Mientras os deleitáis nosotros podemos aconsejaros el trabajo del italiano Maurizio Cattelan, más conocido por sus satíricas y controversiales esculturas y cuya biografía y carrera artística es muy interesante. Otro de los nuestros. ;)

Take a look at Adrian Tranquilli’s body of work titled Heroes: The Route of Exposure, which features your favourite comic book heroes in a more vulnerable light. Tranquilli’s goal was rather to show their more human, fragile characteristics rathat than what we’re accustomed to seeing. Among others, you’ll find a despondent Batman, and a bleeding Superman.
