‘Papier’ is a collection of bags made of paper. Yes, let me repeat; paper! The designers behind it is a married couple from Germany, Stefan Diez, furniture designer, and Saskia Diez who makes beautiful jewellery. When making their collection they began with pointing out the basic requirements of a travel bag – durability, protection and light weight – and sought for an appropriate material other than the traditional choices of leather and reinforced textiles. They found Tyvek®, a synthetic paper that is super light but at the same time extremely robust. In addition it’s also waterproof, tearproof and 100% recyclable. Boy, do I want one!
‘Horsey’ was made by Korean Eungi Kim for the designboom competition, ‘seoul cycle design competition 2010‘, organized in collaboration with seoul design foundation. It is an attachable bicycle accessory which includes wooden ornaments (horse shape body), metal parts, and screws which will make your bike look like a horsey in no time! The designer’s thought behind the project was to give a special look to bicycles for people would care about cycling not only as transportation but also as a lovely pet. Oh boy, I want a horsey for Christmas!
